What should I check before choosing photos?
Use one object per record. Check focus at full size, reduce glare by changing the light angle and keep an unedited original. Do not crop away the object context when photographing a stamp. A detail photo should support, not replace, an overall view.
What information belongs beside the photos?
Record measurements, visible inscriptions and what you know about how the object came to you. Mark family recollections as recollections and label unconfirmed maker or material descriptions as uncertain.
